Savvy institutions that invest care in shepherding a smooth leadership transition may be rewarded with the full richness of a former leader’s talents and gifts. In losing a president or a provost, a college might gain a mentor, an enthusiastic teacher, an accomplished researcher, a public intellectual, a capable fund-raiser, a sage mediator, or a wise department chair. Less attentive institutions that leave things to chance may end up with an expensive, disgruntled colleague.
Guided by empirical research, Lisa currently accepts a limited number of consulting clients who seek to ensure that senior leadership transitions are mutually beneficial for the exiting leader and the institution. Custom packages enable college presidents, provosts, and deans to return to the faculty, find joy after administrative careers, and continue to add value to the campuses and communities.

While at Trinity University, Lisa co-developed and led Reflections, a co-curricular initiative designed to help first-year students grapple with life’s big questions, articulate personal goals, and develop strategies to achieve them.
She has adapted Reflections into an interactive and engaging professional development workshop for faculty and staff who seek to incorporate purpose exploration into their courses and co-curricular offerings.
Many of Lisa’s clients are members of the Network for Vocation in Undergraduate Education (NetVUE).
